I already did a simple translation a year ago. You didn't read the earlier posts carefully, did you.




And night, many people do not read everything in the earlier posts or understand English well enough to reply, and some other ones simply replied to other people's OT questions in Chinese. Those are replies you can ignore. And if you do feel annoyance of seeing those replies in your thread, you'll start to realize what some people are worrying about-- seeing English language in their thread, which they can't understand.

This has been gone too far. I don't think it is worthwhile to make such a big deal about people's intentions, various reasons should they have, and i don't think this will do at the EXPENSE of others. They are simply speaking out their mind, maybe and most likely, no bad meanings. anyway they just want to see and read things they love in a way they are more familiar with.

Nexus, to which I apologised for in a later post and I'm thankful she accepted. Obviously, you missed that. But I made the same mistake you did and came to the wrong conclusions about Night. I'll tell you honestly, there are just as many and likewise who don't, english anime fans who look down on chinese. There is often a measure of discomfort when you bring up the subject of using chinese translations amongst the native english speakers. A bunch of folks even got angry when a particular fansub group revealed they have been using Chinese translations for their projects.

Overall, I thought Night was some spoiled english brat - guy who thought the forum is his playground where he can do as he wish because english is 'better'. In actuality, she is a sincere, nice girl who genuiely likes the forum and just wishes to participate. Only being, she has no idea what to do about the language barrier. Which is rare. Because most english folks would just look down through their noses at a chinese place.

All in all, I'm glad to see that people are supporting her.

i do think having a english interface option is a wonderful thing to do, juz make it easier for those who cant read chinese get around the forum or posting. but sub-forum? i dun think there's any needs for that.  i can see why yamibo got quite a few non chinese-literate viewers, the name does spreads around, e.g 4chan and shoujo ai often mentioned it. but the thing is, this is a forum for chinese speakers, so we should stick to it. i dun see 4chan go chinese for chinese viewers. i dun see shoujo ai go chinese for chinese viewers. so, english sub forum? u lost my vote on that.

for those who cant read chinese, can do wot ppl usually do in this situation - "click the heading one by one". and u can also post in english and reply in english, there must be someone out there who can understand english will answer it.

if the admins are kind enough to make an english interface, ppl should feel satisfied cos it's a bloody kind gesture. and i guess if that really gonna happen, we do need to have the rules in english version as well.

so yeah, i vote for having english interface option but that's all.

Actually,the international communicate language is English.
If we want more pepole to konw YURI, then why not we don't promote English?

umm...don't you think that's too english-centric?
While I strongly support having a small corner for English speakers here, yamibo is after all a Chinese forum for Chinese speakers. While none of us here mind letting the entire world know about yuri yamibohk05 , that isn't really the sole objective of yamibo.  
Besides, the Japanese aren't producing their ACG solely in English for non-Japanese viewers' sake~ yamiboqe014   Although I wouldn't mind if they do. yamibohk03

Even tho I wish more people can know about 300, it's simply too diffacult to maintin.
The language... maybe I stereotype this, but what I see from some english forum, people swear alot, and there are always flamming here and there... which I'm sure no one wants to see that here...

As well as, maybe it is just me XD But I have a feeling that caucasian and asian have totally different view of viewing yuri... maybe just me o well~

Yea. I have to agree to this line. When i first came here, i'm pretty surprised by their politeness they have in their replies. And very often you see curses, swears and those "Who owns/pwned who" one line replies. They actually seem like a rowdy mob. This place is so nice!

As explained by some kind person in previous pages, their views of Yuri is totally different. In this forum (Or maybe else where in the chinese world of yuri) Yuri is a rather pure thing. yamibohk03  

I love this place!

And i hope that foreigners can find this place likable and settle down even if chinese is not their first language. Mirror site or sub-forum, I don't really mind. It's the quality of people that matters.

hmm...I think the best/only way for you to read all these articles here is learning Chinese

It's a nice idea, but as many people have said before me, I don't see how it'll work out properly. Threads are not going to be translated, and there will still be people that don't know Chinese unknowingly leeching and sharing the files our sharers took time to scan/rip/whatever. I've actually seen some of our files from threads here that state "Please do not share outside of yamibo (in Chinese)" being shared in torrents and even direct downloads on English forums.

Basically I support the idea of having an english subforum of yamibo,starting from zero,give it a try,have a trial period rather than translate everything from the chinese forum.As long as anyone would like to help out in the subforum,it should not be a problem,as far as i'm seeing now,those who participated in this issue right now,are more than willing to look out or just to help out on the subforum(perhaps??IDK)But the bottom line is,is really up to the admins and the mods to decide.
